how to convert a song into a ringtone in itunes - mac

Converting a song into a ringtone in Mac is not as tough as it seems. (Itunes 9)

you just need to follow these steps:

1. select the song that you want to convert into a ringtine.
2. Right click on that and select 'Get Info'
3. In the window that opens, select the tab named 'Options'
4. in that tab, there will be Start time and end time that need to be mentioned, make sure that start time and end time is such that the lenght becomes only 15 seconds not more than that.
5. then close this 'Get Info' window and select 'Advanced' on the top menu bar
6. select 'Create AAC version' It will create a new copy of this song in AAC format with this much length.
7. Now go to the original song and change the start time and end time to the original one.
8. Now drag and drop the newly created small song (AAC one) to your desktop
9. It will have extension as .m4a
10. Change it to .m4r and when it prompts chose the option 'Use .m4r'
11. It will change the format of the song to '.m4r'
12. Now first delete the newly created small song clip that was there in the itunes already.
13. Now drag and drop the song with .m4r extension into itunes library. It wil sync into the ringtones, and when we sync the iphone with this itunes, the newly created ringtone will get synced into that.
14. Enjoy your new sing-tone.
